Adimec Introduces the 2 MP OPAL/ONYX Cameras

Using the newest Kodak sensors with superior image quality

Eindhoven, the Netherlands (November 2008). Adimec is pleased to introduce 2 new additional CCD cameras with two options for interfaces, GigE Vision and Camera Link, to their OPAL and ONYX families. These 2 megapixel cameras with 5.5 um pixel size are based around the newest line of Kodak sensors, the KAI-02050 and KAI-02150 allowing for greater spatial resolution. Available in monochrome and color, the 1600 versions of the OPAL & ONYX have resolutions of 1600 x 1200 pixels while the 2000 versions have resolutions of 1920 x 1080 pixels (HDTV).

Built on a platform approach, the newest OPAL and ONYX family members have continued with similar form, fit, and function throughout the line allowing easy integration and compatibility for future upgrades into OEM applications. This concept also allows OEMs the possibility of customization while maintaining a short time-to-market. The ONYX family of cameras have superior image quality with the flexibility and cost effectiveness of GigE. The OPAL family uses the industry standard Camera Link interface providing twice the speed of similar cameras.

These lines of cameras utilize state-of-the-art sensors which offer greater spatial resolution at high speeds. Their advanced sensor technology combined with optimized embedded video processing provides excellent linearity over the full dynamic range. The ONYX and OPAL families will allow high-end OEM systems to meet their needs to be leading in throughput, precision, and ingenuity.
